And The Winner Is...
Find out who you picked as the "Best Coffee Shop In Minneapolis!"
Well, that was conclusive.
By a 110-vote margin, Southwest Minneapolis Patch readers have voted Butter Bakery Cafe as the Best Coffee Shop in Southwest Minneapolis. Ever since Butter Bakery surged ahead of its rivals in our poll on Monday, their lead became unassailable.
"LOVE this place like no other! Best biscuit and best chai in the entire Twin Cities metro area," reader Milli wrote on Butter's Patch Directory listing.
"This place is a gem," reader Sarah Crabtree concurred.
Other neighborhood favorites saw spirrited support, though, even if they couldn't muster the votes to beat Butter. Like the Ron Paul of coffee shops, newcommer Adagio Cafe only polled 40 votes, but saw praise like Zev Larcoran's lavished on them.
"GO ADAGIO! They offer great live music in a calm and cool atmosphere," he wrote.
Other top vote-getters were the 50th and Xerxes Dunn Bros (42), Patisserie 46 (36), and Royal Grounds Coffee (31).

Congratulations Butter Bakery!!
Thank you to The Patch for considering my Adagio Cafe in this poll and a special thank you to all my supporters who took a passionate roll in voting and supporting us here. It was a lot of fun to see everyone so excited about our little corner of coffee heaven here on 50th and Penn.

I am very grateful to all the shops in southwest - which indeed create a bit of coffee / bakery / cafe magic for our neighborhoods that is impossible to find anywhere else. If I ever am able to pry myself out of my kitchen at butter - I'm making it my goal to get to each of the shops on the list and say thank you in person too. And thanks Patch for adding a little pizzazz to late winter!
